Write, revise, and create Word-ready documents with ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT to brainstorm, draft, summarize, and revise. For a Word document, specify the readers, purpose, tone, length, sections, and facts it must preserve. Ask for clean headings and copy-ready text; review the final document in your word processor for layout, links, and accuracy.

Example: a business update

Draft a one-page project update for small-business customers.
Audience: non-technical readers.
Include these headings: Summary, Completed, Next steps, Risks.
Use only the facts in the notes below. Do not invent dates, prices,
or promises. Keep the tone clear and reassuring; use short paragraphs.
If information is missing, mark it [NEEDS CONFIRMATION].
Notes: [paste approved, non-confidential notes]

Improve the draft: Ask for one change at a time, such as “Shorten the summary to 60 words without removing any dates.” Compare revisions with your source notes.
